peterigzKeymasterHi, unfortunately I still can’t recreate this issue. I tried downloading the latest graphics drivers but it still works ok here. I did hear from someone else regarding the low quality of the exports which must be related to the issues with the preview window (the green lines in the background).
Do you perhaps have nvidia graphic settings that are different somehow, or maybe some other 3rd party software installed that adjust graphics settings? Did you try updating to the latest graphics drivers?
peterigzKeymasterHmm that looks odd. Only thing I can think of initially is that’s it’s a background image, but that’s not set by default when you download the trial so it seems unlikely. You could just double check by looking under the preview menu and setting the background colour to black.
I’m on Windows 10 here with an nvidia 1660 and no issues like that so maybe a driver issue. I haven’t updated my drivers in a while so I could try installing the latest and see if I get similar issues.
If you want you can also try the new alpha version here: https://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/timelinefx-alpha-version/
It is alpha though and still in heavy development, should have a new alpha out today or tomorrow too.
peterigzKeymasterHi, the particles are greyed out until you select an emitter in the effect tree view. If you click the arrow next the the effect (like Frosty Halo) then it will open up where you can see the emitters. Hope that helps!
peterigzKeymasterHi, yes you can just email me at pete@rigzsoft.co.uk and let me know the email address that you used to purchase with and I can re send you the details.
peterigzKeymasterHmm that’s really strange, is it just a PNG export as a sprite sheet you’re doing? And what are the computer specs that you are running on? You could upload the effects somewhere or email them to me at pete@rigzsoft.co.uk and I could try as well to recreate the error.
peterigzKeymasterHi, not sure I follow what you mean, the example effects load if “Load Examples on Startup” is checked under the File menu, so if you re installed then it probably reset again. all the other effects can be download from here: https://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/effects-libraries/ under the downloads menu.
If you re-registered then you should be good to go. Hope that helps!
peterigzKeymasterThanks for the heads-up, the links were lacking the https in the url so were being flagged by browsers I guess. Seems to be working now, let me know if they’re any more issues.
peterigzKeymasterHmm, I think this could be due to a corrupt config file. If you uninstall and then go to the where it was installed maybe it didn’t remove everything, default is C:/Program Files/TimelineFX. You could try deleting everything in the folder and installing again. Alternatively try installing to a different folder which should have the same effect.
I think a simimlar issue was here which was also a config issue: https://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/forums/topic/windwos-10-editor-exception_access_violation-on-start/

peterigzKeymasterHi, I think that you need to do 2 things. First on the TrailSource emitter you could decrease the life a little and increase the life variation. Then within that emitter on the Trail sub emitter, if you look at the Size graph, move the second node on the graph to 2 seconds to give it more time to play out. Currently the base size of that trail is getting smaller the longer the effect goes on for so that was why they were all ending at the same time but if you do the things above then that should help.
Hope that helps!
peterigzKeymasterFYI, I’ve now added this in the latest alpha: https://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/timelinefx-alpha-version/
peterigzKeymasterThanks, just an oversite so will add that in for the next alpha version. I’ll see if there’s any other missing as well.
peterigzKeymasterThis bug is now fixed, thanks for reporting, updated the latest version available here: https://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/timelinefx-alpha-version/
peterigzKeymasterThanks for reporting, that doesn’t look right 🙂
It almost as though it’s creating too many particles or something, what does the particle counter say before it crashes? Should be no more then 500 for that effect.
Also, inside the folder it should have generated a core.dmp file, if you could email that over to info@rigzsoft.co.uk that would be awesome.
peterigzKeymasterAhh yes, there’s a setting to auto load the previously opened effects file so I obviously don’t have a check to make sure that the file still exists, will fix that, thanks for catching it 🙂
Discord channel is a good idea I’ll look to set one up.
peterigzKeymasterThanks for testing and glad you like the interface 🙂 I thought at some point it might be nice to have a selection of themes to choose from.
Can’t recreate that here also on win10, where abouts were you saving it? And was this a new file or save as on the example file. I’ll keep trying to recreate and see if I find anything.
