peterigzKeymasterOpps sorry I should have tested! I’ve fixed the link.
peterigzKeymasterI think you’re more after video effects which TimelineFX isn’t designed for. I made a quick example of the star trail effect you linked to in TimelineFX, you can drag it around for a similar effect, but because you can’t use paths or save to a video format I don’t think it’d be much use to you. Here’s the star trail effect for your reference anyway: StarTrailEffect
peterigzKeymasterI depends on what you’re trying to achieve really. what was it you’re looking to use the effects for?
Essentially that effect is what I’d call a “Star or smoke trial” which is easily doable, but only if you’re going to use the effect in-game dynamically using one of the libraries such as Blitzmax or Monkey.
peterigzKeymasterHi, all of the effects libraries available on this site were made from scratch in TimelineFX.
You can make a similar effect to the video you posted, but you can’t use paths in TimelineFX. After effects is more for video editing whereas TimelineFX is made for Game content for use either as sprite sheets or dynamically in-game.
peterigzKeymasterHi, it depends how you’re making the effect. I would use a point effect and on the effect tab untick auto centre and set either the handle x or handle y to the size of the radius you want. Make sure the particle is set to relative under the Particle tab then use the Effect Angle graph to setup how the effect rotates with the starting and end angles.
Let me know if you want to upload an example of what I mean.
peterigzKeymasterHi, I see that the effect is based on the burst up effect from the starbursts library, but I’m not sure how to recreate the issue you’re are having. The burst up effect as it works ok, can you send me the effect? Thanks!
peterigzKeymasterHmm that looks odd. I’m just viewing on my mobile atm so it’s hard to see properly but I’ll take a proper look either tomorrow or Sunday. If you could send me the effect that’d be great.
peterigzKeymasterYou can send to my email at pete@rigzsoft.co.uk or if it’s too big for email I recommend http://wetransfer.com
Thanks.
peterigzKeymasterHi I was just looking at this but having trouble recreating the issue. I was sure I did come across it recently but can’t make it happen now. Can you send your library which is having issues?
Thanks!
peterigzKeymasterHi, I’m just back from holiday so will look to fix this over the next couple of days!
peterigzKeymasterIt looks like I messed up the install config on the last update and linked to the icon rather then embed it š
Thanks, for pointing it out, will try and sort it out.
peterigzKeymasterHi, glad you sorted it, and thanks for the link!

peterigzKeymasterHi, There’s no PDF version of the documentation, the best I can do is print the html to PDF, which isn’t ideal but doesn’t look too bad. Download from here: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/media/TimelineFX-Documentation.pdf
Hope that helps!
peterigzKeymasterEFF files are basically zip files so you can just open them in any zip manager and you’ll find all the shapes in there. Or you can go File > Export and export the effect library as a .zip file as well.
peterigzKeymasterHi, you can select the full colour option under File > Import Options, and then images with be left alone when importing.
Hope that helps!
