imported_peterigzParticipantThanks for that. the negative number basically means the rgba value is 0,0,0,255, when it should be all 0’s. So at least it narrows things down more – basically it’s either not clearing the backbuffer with alpha, or grabpixmap is not working properly, but I think that it’s not clearing with alpha.
imported_peterigzParticipantSo, I created a version that makes a log file as I mentioned. I also made an effects file just to test with so I can compare results a bit more easily. Just open the effects file and render as full colour, then attach the animlog.txt file that will be dumped into the installation folder, to a post here or just email to me if that’s easier.
TimelineFX is here: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/files/TestFiles/TimelineFXEditorSetup.exe
and here’s the effects file: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/files/TestFiles/angletest.eff
Let’s see if it gives us some clues 🙂
imported_peterigzParticipantI think the next thing I’ll do then is create a detailed log file and log everything that’s happening while it’s rendering the frames, I’m sure we’ll get there in the end, very obscure bug though that’s for sure! 😉
imported_peterigzParticipantNo extra dll’s or anything. The most confusing thing for me is that it works on all the other export functions, just full colour does’t work, but there really is no difference between any of them. Anyway, another one to try here: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/files/TimelineFXEditorSetup.exe this time no GL extensions are used, see if that makes any difference.
Thanks for testing!
imported_peterigzParticipantOk cool. I made a slight change, you can download a new version here: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/files/TimelineFXEditorSetup.exe
This will eliminate any chance that the transparencey option is somehow being disabled after the first frame. You can just install over the top of the previous version. Give it a try and let me know.
imported_peterigzParticipantThanks for testing. I’ll scrutinise the code tonight and see if anything sticks out. Essentially there is zero difference between the grey scale and full colour exports aside from the colours being averaged but I’ll see what I can find.
ps., did you update the drivers in case it’s anything to do with that? The latest nVidia drivers are from the 21st August.
imported_peterigzParticipantThat’s great news, I wasn’t that confident in the fix because to be honest, it seems like it wasn’t doing anything special, but hey, I’m not complaining! 🙂
As for paint mode, I might even just rid of it, it was just a bit of fun really heh.
imported_peterigzParticipantI just uploaded a new update which may help with this problem, let me know! You can grab it from the downloads page.
imported_peterigzParticipantHi Mic, most things are running ok, just a few interface things to sort, and I want to organise things so updating both versions will be as simple as possible. I’m releasing another windows update tonight with a few additions and what I hope will be fixes for a couple of issues, then hopefully I can finish of the Mac version 🙂
imported_peterigzParticipantMy pleasure. It’s one of those strange obscure bugs 🙄
What happens when you save as a strip (the checkbox option below transparancey)?
imported_peterigzParticipantOk thanks, now I’ve just got to figure out what the difference is between that and the editor 😕 🙂 Will let you know as soon as I find something.
imported_peterigzParticipantok, here we go, this one contains an exe, just run that and a test.png file should appear, let me know if some frames lack alpha.
imported_peterigzParticipantahh ok, I didn’t think that you might not have blitmax 😳 I’ll compile it into an executable for you.
imported_peterigzParticipantOk, I created a small test program which you’ll find attached, just extract and run the bmx file and it should create a test.png consisting of 4 frames of animation. It uses the exactly same routines as the editor so let’s see if we can recreate the problem on a smaller scale.
imported_peterigzParticipantHi Lazuras, I think that’s fine, I’m not going to be too strict with the licensing, as long as you’re the sole user.
