Ok, so… When loading the bubble effect, I get the pop up immediately, while the Loading library is still showing… I think that’s what you wanted…
You will find the screenie of the result joined with this message, as it could be interesting to see exactly the result… It’s all set to 0, with a comma… Which could be an explanation (comma instead of a point)…

wow, so even the value in the attribute is zero before it even tries to convert it!
Could you go into the bubble.eff file with a zip manager (.eff files are basically just zip files) and in there you’ll see a file called DATA.xml. If you could open that in a plain text reader and find the WEIGHT_OVERTIME value. It should look like this (from the first bubble.eff I attached)
Ok scrap that, I made a mistake, both those values it’s showing are the result of the conversion to a float! I’ve made a new version which should give you 3 values this time, if you could try this version and load the bubble effect again, that’d be great! I think once I see the result of this I can fix it for sure, so almost there!

Thanks!
Hello Peter,
I’m sorry for the late reply, I totally missed your post… I must admit I’m sort of sick (maybe something I shouldn’t have eaten during X-Mas)… Merry Christmas by the way, and a happy new year !
I did the testing you mentionned and here is the screenie…
Cheers,
Vampyre
As you can see, even if I’m sick and not quite good at thinking or programing at the moment, I just point you to the coma there. First value uses a point. Second and third are coma… So there is definitely something to do with my locals, as coma is standard for decimal in latin languages…
Thanks Vampyr! Someones kindly written me a function that should convert a string to a float and correctly take into account the locale settings of the computer, so I’m gonna implement that and see if it works 🙂
Hope you get well soon!
Ok, try this version and see what happpens 🙂

I call that good ! The effect works perfectly now with no modification of any sort… Weight overtime is now correctly set.
I try the other libraries to see if it solves it…
I call that REALLY good !
I took one random pack : explosions 2.
32 frames ALL WORKING
40 frames ALL WORKING
48 frames ALL WORKING
64 frames ALL WORKING
I call that truly good… Next try, I try with the other I had already tested, but I’m quite confident now…
Furthermore, seeing the full effect now, it’s blowing my eyes ! Wonderful job there… And I could see one application you probably never imagined for the effects (video editing :p I was starting to miss of references with black background to make my special effects videos :p I see there a good way to get some nice effects :p)
Post you when I have tested the libraries I had already tested.
Ok Peter,
Congratulations ! You killed that bug !
ALL libraries works as intended… Without a single glitch, or a single error of any kind… A perfect call here !
Gratz ! I will now have a deeper look at those effects, and you can expect a buy action very soon 🙂
Yay! 🙂
I guess it came down to something simple in the end, but getting to the bottom of it was difficult! Thanks for helping me debug it 🙂
I’ll have to sort out an official update soon.
You’re welcome Peter, glad I’ve helped 🙂 And thanks to you for your software :p
Works ok now, thanks! 😀
