I have fes suggestions for TimelineFX Editor interface that should’n be hard to implement.
First of all what I miss the most is ability to have splitter between preview window and graph/tree. The most work is done in timeline from my point of wiew and way to often the timeline window is too small.
The other alternative would be splitting program window like this:
Also what I miss is refresh (or play/stop) button and a key shortcut attached to it. Too often I keep loosing focus from parameter I am editing just to refresh the animation.
Input value should also have a shortcut, the way keyframes are activated (by hovering the mouse) isn’t too comfortable. It would be great to have ‘next/previous’ keyframe selection from keyboard (eg ”).
Navigation by cursor keys works only in tree view, trying to switch between attributes by ‘up’ & ‘down’ cursor keys changes the focus immidately to graph window. I guess navigation between the windows should be done by ‘Tab’ key?
Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll see what I can do for the next version 🙂
There’s also a zoom function on the graph in case you missed it, either right click and select the zoom level, or just use the mouse wheel. But I agree a splitter window would make things better. Hopefully it’s not too hard to implement 🙂
